Stress and TpT sale :)

I don't know about you, but I'm definitely feeling the crunch, and school doesn't start until after Labor Day.  All the things that are floating in my head:  the new reading and writing curricula, how can I improve on my math strategies, how can organize and maintain my anecdotals...how many pennies until I fill my piggy bank so I go cash them at TD Bank.  All this stress!

Mrs. Mimi captures the essence of August for teachers, those of us who begin in September, in the first chapter of her book, It's Not All Flowers and Sausages.  If you want a sneak peak of this chapter, Instructor magazine has an excerpt here.  She compares July to one long fabulous Saturday, and August to one long, stressful Sunday.  It's the perfect analogy.

Well, in honor of all the stressed and penny-counting teachers out there, I am holding a TpT sale for the rest of August as well as the first couple weeks of September.  I'm sending good wishes to all the hard-working, under-appreciated, overly-stressed, persistent (and the list goes on and on) teachers out there!!  We can do it...I think...

  2. We are using the updated Teachers College Reading and Writing Workshop calendars, which include some new units of study. They are more closely aligned with Common Core.
